Federations Help Cadres, Volunteers Better Understand Laws
ByYao Yao September 16, 2022[For Women of China] |
Hainan Women's Federation has been dispatching vans, with "legal docents," to communities and villages (in South China's Hainan Province), so the "docents" can provide training to volunteers and cadres with the women's federations, at all levels in Hainan, to help them better understand laws and regulations, especially those pertaining to the protection of women and children's legal rights and interests.
Soon after a van arrived in Qionghai (a city in Hainan) on June 28, a "legal mediator" — Liu Meifang, director of Hainan Hongshun Law Firm — provided a lecture to volunteers and cadres with the women's federations, at all levels in Qionghai, so they could improve their ability to help residents better protect their legal rights and interests. Liu explained the legal information related to women, children and families that has been presented in some cases. The activity was well received. Many participants said the lecture not only helped them increase their knowledge about the Book on Marriage and Family in Chinese Civil Code (which took effect on January 1, 2021), but also helped them improve their ability to help women and children protect their rights and interests.
A cadre with Hainan Women's Federation recently told media the federation will dispatch vans to other regions (in Hainan), so "legal docents" can provide training to volunteers and cadres with the local women's federations, to help them improve their ability to protect resident's rights and interests. The cadre also said the federations will conduct various activities to help the volunteers and cadres better understand laws and regulations.
